YOYOGI PARK 代々木公園 JAPAN

Saturday, 25 April 2015 Tokyo, Japan

This is the second post about my trip to Japan, if you missed out on the first post, please click here. This time  around I am going to take you to Yoyogi 代々木公園 Park.
For a little history Yoyogi Park is one of the largest parks in Tokyo. It is located adjacent to Harajuku Station and Meji Shrine in Shibuya and it was the site of the 1964 Olympic games.

I went to Yoyogi Park on the second day of my 2 week trip to Tokyo. Actually on the same day I also went to Harajuku (This will be for another post) but straight after that, my little stroll took me to the door of Yoyogi Park and what a beautiful surprise it was. First of all it was my first taste of a typical Japanese style park so seeing those tall enchanted tress and little wooden bridges at every corner made me remember all those documentaries and Mangas I've seen over the years. As I was wandering in this park I came across the Meji Shrine which is very popular for traditional Japanese weddings. I felt extremely privilege to have seen it, I didn't take as many pictures as my heart wished for, as I didn't want to be too intrusive, but sharing a glimpse of their special day in their beautiful traditional costume was something I'll remember for the rest of my life.
